COVID 19 (corona virus update)
Dear customers and friends
In line with the Government’s recent announcement our pubs will now be fully closed for the short term to protect lives.
To serve our local communities we had tried to keep many of our pubs open for takeaway and for the hotel users and some of our pubs even served groceries in their villages. But to protect the health and safety of our teams and our customers we will now close our business in its entirety until advised that we are able to re-open. We’re all hoping it won’t be for too long.
If you need to contact us in the meantime please use our email address email@example.com.
We look forward to welcoming you back as soon as possible. We all wish you good health and spirits in these difficult times until we have the pleasure of welcoming you back to your local.

Set in a quiet, beautiful village in the Berkshire countryside, The Winning Post oozes character and charm. Enjoy a superb meal or drinks with family in our 18th century pub building, with its cosy nooks and crannies, original stone floor and huge open fire, or indulge in a peaceful overnight stay in one of our 12 fantastic rooms. The Winning Post is within easy reach of Windsor and Ascot, making it a firm favourite for equine fans, with Ascot and Royal Windsor racecourses as well as The Royal County of Berkshire and Guards Polo Clubs nearby.
“What a find! Coming to Windsor or Ascot, take a look at this country pub with style and panache. Rooms are clean and comfortable, pub food is excellent…We have found a hidden gem and will be back again for another stay in the future” Review, Tripadvisor
Stayed here for one night and could not fault it at all. Bed was comfortable, staff were helpful and the food was delicious, especially the breakfast!
The atmosphere as soon as you walked in was friendly and homely. The food was all cooked to perfection and as requested. The portion sizes were good. The service was quiet, respectful, efficient and friendly. Will definitely come here again.
The setting is quite rural and pretty. The pub bar, dining areas and rooms were lovely, we very much enjoyed both the evening meal and breakfast, and very importantly staff were all very helpful and friendly. We could not fault this establishment, and would highly recommend it.
Food was excellent, piping hot, fresh and very tasty. Locally sourced sausages from a farm literally 5 minutes away, cannot get any better than that! Atmosphere and service was perfect after a long day in the office.
Following the Government announcement, we have had to close until we are advised that we can re-open. We know how important the role of the village pub is to each community, and we kept open for as long as possible to serve you. We truly hope we can welcome you back in before too long!
We would sincerely like to thank you for your past and ongoing support and hope you and your families keep safe and well in these difficult times. We really look forward to the opportunity to welcome you back before too long.
